Kingston swans rescued after dramatic bus fire

Kingston 2nd December 2016 – The Swan Sanctuary were called out to Kingston following the bus fire, diesel from the bus had been washed into the Hogsmill just next to the location of the fire and had flowed through the middle of the flock where the Hogsmill flows into the River Thames. The team from the Sanctuary, aided by members of the public, pulled 16 of the worst affected oiled birds from the Thames and transported them to the Swan Sanctuary for cleaning. They should be ready to return to Kingston in the next few days.
