“A Charity Fun Run Day organised by Staines local micro-brewery Thames Side Brewery and The Wheatsheaf & Pigeon pub on Wheatsheaf Lane, raised an eyewatering £1,115.60 from a Charity Fun Run Day organised on Saturday 2nd September. Funds raised from race entries and collection boxes, on the day, were in aid of the Charity The Swan Sanctuary, Shepperton.
On the day there were 5 & 10 kilometre running races attended by the largest group yet – 88 entries!! Events included cake and fun stalls as well as a delicious BBQ on what was a lovely sunny day. Everyone attending gave generously. There were free pints of Thames Side Beer for all race entrants.
Michele Gibson & Andy Hayward of Thames Side Brewery joined forces with Paul and Jocy Cornish of the Wheatsheaf & Pigeon to make the cheque presentation to Dot and Steve Beeson of the Swan Sanctuary, Shepperton.
Dot and Steve were delighted to receive the cheque and said that “every penny counts at the Swan Sanctuary to ensure the welfare of the birds they care for, we are very grateful to Thames Side Brewery and the Wheatsheaf & Pigeon for this wonderful donation”.””
