2nd March 2020 – Kensington Gardens
This swan had managed to tangle its legs up in some fine netting and so was struggling to swim. Presumably in an attempt to free itself it had then got even further wrapped up in the fencing which was protecting the reeds from hungry waterfowl in Kensington Gardens. So it was completely trapped. Sally had to get the kayak onto the water to effect the rescue and disentangle the whole sorry mess. The swan had managed to cut its leg quite badly somewhere along the way and so it is with us until the wound is fully healed. We find honey is the best thing for open wounds and it is progressing nicely.
