October 2020 – Painshill Park and Wembley
Cygnets are now turning up in all sorts of places as they learn how to fly and leave their parents. Unfortunately these two birds each had to have a wing amputated. One at Painshill Park in Surrey we think was the victim of a dog attack and the one rescued in the dark in Wembley crash landed, managed to get himself covered in oil and was then found wandering completely confused and desperate. They will live out their lives at the Swan Sanctuary as it neither legal nor safe to release them back into the wild with only one wing.
